8K visualization of “Linear torrential rains” in Japan

Torrential rains brought by “linear precipitation zones” cause severe disasters in Japan. We conducted an 8K ultra-high-definition visualization of the rain, clouds, and winds. These data were obtained through massive numerical weather prediction using FUGAKU.

FUGAKU:A petascale supercomputer developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu in Japan became the fastest supercomputer in the world in the June 2020.
