8K visualization of “Linear torrential rains” in Japan

Torrential rains brought by “linear precipitation zones” cause severe disasters in Japan. We conducted an 8K ultra-high-definition visualization of the rain, clouds, and winds. These data were obtained through massive numerical weather prediction using FUGAKU. FUGAKU:A petascale supercomputer developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu in Japan became the fastest supercomputer in the world in the […]

Enhancing Global Weather Insights: Visualizing 8K Resolution Patterns with GCRM and Supercomputer

The Madden-Julian Oscillation, a weather phenomenon in the tropics featuring massive cloud clusters spanning thousands of kilometers, significantly impacts Japan’s climate. These cloud clusters move eastward from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific at about 5m/sec. Japanese meteorologists have developed a Global Cloud Resolving Model (GCRM) and utilized supercomputers to simulate highly detailed global […]

How do emotions spread within social networks?

How do emotions spread within social networks? User interactions on social media platforms, including comments, likes, and shares, offer insights into their sentiments towards various topics. Leveraging a dataset of 300,000 COVID-19-related tweets from Twitter, we conducted an analysis to visualize the distribution of users expressing similar emotions across the network and examine […]

Visualization of the world’s vessel routes in the 18th and 21st centuries

Visualization of the world’s vessel routes in the 18th and 21st centuries, 2018 慶應義塾大学SFC脇田玲研究室(長島禎, 山辺真幸, 脇田玲) [Data Source]CLIWOC(A Climatological Database for the World’s Oceans 1750–1854)、vesselfinder.com [参考・協力]「世界貿易の多元性と多様性―『長期の19世紀』アジア域内貿易の動態とその制度的基盤(課題番号24243045)」代表者:城山智子(東京大学大学院経済学研究科教授)、「VEHA:アジアにおける貿易史の可視化」長島禎

Visualization of Air Conditioner

Visualization of Air Conditioner, 2017 Design and System Development: Keio University SFC, Wakita Laboratory.
